What started with listening to families and responding to a need turned into something pretty incredible. On August 8, Bountiful Basket held our first-ever FREE Back-to-School Clothing Pop-Up, and 111 children left a little more ready—and excited—for the school year ahead. Kids had the opportunity to choose clothing they loved, families found items their growing children needed, and there were plenty of smiles along the way. One excited child summed up the day perfectly: “Mom! Look at this! I LOVE this!”

Our community made it all possible. An incredible amount of new and gently used clothing was donated, Scheels surprised us with brand-new backpacks for the kids, and our friends at His House Foundation brought their Resource Bus and joined us for the day. In fact, our community gave so generously that the impact continued long after the pop-up ended. Remaining clothing was made available to families visiting Bountiful Basket, giving them an opportunity to choose clothes and other items after their regular food appointments.

And that continued support has led to some pretty special moments. One mom, leaving with bags of clothing for her four children, told us, “This is a real blessing. I have four children to get ready for school, and this will really help. Thank you.” We heard similar words again and again from families who were excited to bring something home for their children, their spouse, or themselves.

While food will always be our primary mission, food is just the beginning. By listening, responding, and working together, we can help connect families with resources that make everyday life a little easier. To every person who donated clothing, volunteered, shared resources, or helped make this possible—thank you!
